Application information
- ①SN-DEFOAMER 1355 cans be used without dilution.
- ②SN-DEFOAMER 1355 is used in the range of 0.3-1.0 mass% on the weight of paint.
- ③SN-DEFOAMER 1355 is effectively used in grinding process, e.g. add 0.2-0.6 mass % at the grinding process and add the remaining defoamer to the “letdown” process of paints.
Performance test
-
１．Evaluation results of gloss paint
SN-DEFOAMER 1355 shows better defoaming ability than silicone type
defoamer in gloss paint.
◆Procedure
１．Initial evaluation
1)Defoamers are added to the paint and stirred by homogenizer.
(Mixing conditions: 1,000rpm x 15min)2)Add 10% water to the above paint to mix.
3)Controlled paints are painted on the slate board by the wool roller.
4)The time of 100% of generated foams disappeared is measured by visual judgment.
2．After aging evaluation
1)After keeping the above paint under 2oC or 50oC for 14days, add 10% water of it to mix.
2)Controlled paints are painted on the slate board by the wool roller.
3)The time of 90% of generated foams disappeared is measured by visual judgment.
3．Cratering/gloss retaining test for gloss paint
1)The paint which is made for above test is applied on glass plates with 6mil applicator.
2)After leaving them for 24 hours, judge the film about the cratering / 60o gloss.

２．Staining evaluation (outdoor weathering)
SN-DEFOAMER 1355 shows excellent stain resistance than silicone type defoamer.
◆Testing Methods
①Make gloss paint as following table.
②After degassing by apparatus, apply the paint on stainless plate by applicator (6 mil).
③After setting one night, evaluate outdoor weathering exposure test for 3months.
